On the Cataraqui Trail

Nice day on the trail near Sydenham today. A few critters are starting to show their faces after a long winter.

Garden sprouting

Still a cold day but there are signs of better days to come. The garlic I planted last fall is sprouting. Hope springs anew!

The run-off continues. Spring weather is unpredictable. Here is a photo of water falling over rocks. Love the red dogwood!

Another day closer to spring. Yesterday, the snow was melting and becoming icy. The lake was still ice covered. But the breakup should be any day now with the rain that is falling.

Here is an aged gate. Used to be red but sun has bleached it pink.

Gardening Thoughts

I went to see and hear Ed Lawrence CBC Radio gardening expert speak in Verona, Ontario today. Time well spent on a dreary day. Made me think of spring flowers coming soon. I hope!

the big melt begins

Finally seeing some good weather. The snow is beginning to melt.

Though the temperature is slowly rising and there are some signs of spring, it is hard to be optimistic. It is April after all.
There is someone who still appreciates a good run in the snow.
